On-Site Painting Photo Documentation
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I need a skilled artwork photographer to visit an indoor location and create publication-ready images of a series of paintings. The goal is faithful documentation—accurate color, correct scale, and even lighting—so curators and potential buyers can judge each piece remotely.
Scope of work
• Travel to the site (an indoor space; exact address shared after award).
• Bring and set up appropriate lighting, color-calibration card, and a high-resolution camera capable of at least 24 MP RAW capture.
• Photograph every painting straight-on, eliminating glare and perspective distortion.
• Capture close-up texture shots where brushwork or surface detail is important.
• Provide a quick on-site review so we can confirm framing and fidelity before you leave.
Deliverables
• Edited, color-corrected TIFFs and web-ready JPEGs, named by inventory number.
• A contact sheet PDF.
• Basic usage rights for exhibition catalogues, website, and social media.
I’m looking for someone with demonstrable experience in fine-art documentation, familiarity with polarized lighting and X-Rite or similar calibration tools, and the discipline to keep a consistent workflow from shoot through export. If that describes you, please outline your approach, gear list, and estimated turnaround time.
