Recreate Childhood Photo
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m working with two recent, high-resolution shots of my siblings and me, posed to mirror an old childhood picture around our grandparents’ table. The original print is in pristine shape, so no restoration is needed—only careful compositing.
Your task is to lift the three of us as adults from the new photos, blend us seamlessly into the vintage scene, and keep everything else exactly as it appears in the original: background, table, lighting cues, even the subtle grain. I want the retouching to feel natural and subtle; skin-smoothing or dramatic colour shifts would break the nostalgic look. Please match the warm, slightly muted colour palette and contrast of the old film so the final image looks as though it was taken on the same day.
I’ll supply:
• A 600 dpi scan of the childhood photo
• Separate, well-lit adult portraits (full-length and close-up angles available)
You’ll deliver:
• A high-resolution composite (print-ready at minimum 300 dpi, TIFF or JPEG)
• A layered PSD so I can tweak minor details later, if possible
Positioning should replicate the original layout—no creative reshuffling required. Let me know if you need any extra reference shots or lighting notes before you start.
