Professional Enhancement of Author Photos

Project overview
We are preparing promotional materials for the launch of our upcoming book on Cloud Analytics, and would like to professionally enhance our author photos for use across all marketing channels (cover flaps, website, social media, press kit).
Scope of work
Enhance portraits of both authors (2 primary photos, plus a few alternates if needed).
Improve overall image quality: color correction, contrast, sharpness, and skin tone balancing while maintaining a natural, professional look.
Apply light retouching: remove minor blemishes, stray hairs, and small distractions while preserving authentic facial features and avoiding an over-edited appearance.
Perform background enhancement or replacement: create clean, on-brand backgrounds suitable for a professional tech/business author image (e.g., neutral studio backdrop or a subtle, modern theme that aligns with data/analytics).
Provide final images optimized for both print and digital use (web-optimized versions for online platforms).
Deliverables
Enhanced final photos for both authors, with at least one polished image each (plus a small set of alternate crops/versions if feasible). Together and separate.
Final files delivered as:
High-resolution JPG/PNG suitable for print (cover, interior, posters).
Web-ready JPG/PNG sized and compressed for website, email campaigns, and social media.
Selection and collaboration
The project will be awarded to a freelancer based on:
The quality of sample edits using a test photo of both authors.
Strength of portfolio, especially prior work with author, corporate, or professional enhancement.
Relevant experience in subtle, natural-looking portrait retouching.
Clear and timely communication is essential; we expect one to two minor revision rounds, if necessary, to ensure the final photos align with the visual branding of our book and our overall launch campaign.
