Moderately Damaged Photo Digitization
Budget: €12 – €18 EUR
I have a collection of physical photographs that show noticeable fading, light creases, and surface dust. Before I can start any detailed editing or full restoration work, I need every image professionally digitized so I’m working with the best possible source.
Here’s what I’m after:
• High-resolution scans (600 dpi or higher) of each photo, saved in both TIFF (archival) and lightly compressed JPEG (working) formats.
• Faithful colour capture and even lighting so later colour-correction is straightforward.
• Gentle, non-destructive cleaning of each print prior to scanning to remove loose dust without worsening the damage.
• Basic post-scan touch-ups—cropping, straightening, and removal of obvious specks or scratches—so the files are ready for deeper restoration work.
If you own a calibrated flatbed scanner (Epson V850, Canon Canoscan 9000F, or comparable) and colour-managed workflow, you’re the ideal fit. Accuracy and consistency across the full batch matter more to me than speed, though I’d like an estimated turnaround once you’ve seen a sample.
Please include:
1. The scanner model and software (e.g., SilverFast, VueScan) you’ll use.
2. A brief note on your image-handling workflow for moderately damaged prints.
3. An example before-and-after scan (watermarked is fine).
I’ll ship or hand-deliver the photographs securely and cover return shipping. Once we agree on the workflow, I’ll provide a small test batch; if the quality matches my needs, we’ll proceed with the remaining images.
