Image → Vector Line Art (Validation Phase) for CNC Pen Plotter -- 2
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I am building a CNC pen plotter that draws people on paper using a single pen.
Before investing in a full pipeline, I want to run a paid validation phase to test feasibility and output quality.
I am looking for a freelancer who can convert 1–2 images of people into clean, recognisable, CNC-ready vector line drawings.
This is a finite, well-defined task, not open-ended research.
Scope of Work (Validation Phase) -
You will:
- Take 1–2 photographs of people (provided by me)
- Remove or ignore the background
- Generate a vector line drawing that:

Is recognisable when drawn with a pen
Uses only strokes / paths
Contains no dots, no shading fills, no raster data
Looks like a human sketch
Is suitable for CNC pen plotting

Input Images:
- May be colored
- May include background clutter
- Face portraits preferred for validation
- Good lighting, frontal or semi-frontal
Output Requirements (Strict) -
Format:
- SVG preferred
- OR DXF / vector polylines
Vector Constraints:
- Paths only
- No filled regions
- No pointillism / dot shading
- Continuous strokes preferred
- Stroke order should be logical
CNC Constraints (Important):
- Single pen
- Avoid excessive micro-segments
- Avoid unnecessary stroke fragmentation
- Optimized for physical plotting (not screen art)
Deliverables:
- Final vector file(s)
- Brief explanation of:
- Approach used
- How you came to that approach
- A documentation
- What worked well
- Known limitations
Success Criteria -
This validation is successful if:
- The plotted result is recognisable as the person
- The drawing looks intentional and sketch-like
- The vector runs on a CNC pen plotter without manual fixing
- If successful, this project may extend to a larger paid Phase-2.
Ownership & Usage Rights (Important):
- All code, scripts, pipelines, vector outputs, and related work produced under this project will be fully owned by me.
- This work is considered work made for hire.
- The freelancer may not reuse, resell, publish, or redistribute the work (in part or full) without my explicit written permission.
- I retain the unrestricted right to use, modify, extend, commercialize, or open-source the work in any form.
- Applying to this project implies agreement with these terms.

- Python + OpenCV preferred
- Sketch generation / pen plotter experience is a plus
