Everyday Beauty: 10 Photographic Captures
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Task: Capture 10 Photographs Showing Beauty in Everyday Life (Art Project)
Description:
I’m looking for a photographer (professional or skilled hobbyist) to take 10 original photographs that explore the theme of finding beauty in everyday, ordinary things — the unnoticed details, imperfections, and quiet moments that make real life visually meaningful and emotionally beautiful.
The style should be inspired by artists such as William Eggleston, Stephen Shore, Rinko Kawauchi, Saul Leiter, Luigi Ghirri, Alec Soth, Todd Hido, Joel Meyerowitz, and Wolfgang Tillmans.
Each image should express a sense of stillness, simplicity, and authenticity, showing how beauty appears in real, unpolished scenes — like a messy corner, sunlight on a wall, worn objects, reflections, or quiet city streets.
⸻
Requirements:
• Deliver 10 high-quality images (minimum 3000px on the long side).
• Subjects: everyday objects, interiors, small details, or public scenes — nothing staged or overly edited.
• Lighting: preferably natural light; soft, ambient tones.
• Editing: subtle color and contrast adjustments only (no heavy retouching).
• Mood: calm, poetic, and observational.
⸻
Inspiration & References:
Artists to reference for mood and composition:
• William Eggleston – color and composition in the mundane
• Stephen Shore – calm observation of daily life
• Rinko Kawauchi – poetic minimalism
• Saul Leiter – reflections, atmosphere
• Luigi Ghirri – simplicity and subtle humor
• Alec Soth – emotional storytelling in ordinary settings
• Wolfgang Tillmans – beauty in overlooked details
⸻
Delivery:
• 10 digital photos in JPG format
• Include short captions or notes (1–2 lines) explaining what caught your attention in each scene
• Deadline: [insert your preferred date]
⸻
To Apply:
Please share 2–3 examples of your previous work that show your ability to capture everyday beauty or documentary-style images.
