Editorial Sports Photo Curation

Job ID: 40296743

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I cover professional sports in the United States like MLS and take over 2,000 RAW/JPEG files a game. I need a sharp editorial eye to trim that number down to a tight, publication-ready set of 50 photographs that instantly convey the highs, lows, and raw emotion of competition.

The brief
• Source set: mixed sports (basketball, track, soccer and a few candid locker-room scenes) shot under varying arena and daylight conditions.
• Priority: images that capture genuine emotional moments over pure action or unusual angles, though either of those is a bonus if the storytelling is strong. But also, action and other angles and overall shots that show creativity and shows the storytelling as a photographer
• End use: print and online sports features, so every chosen frame must read clearly at both thumbnail and full-page sizes.

Your workflow
Feel free to use Photo Mechanic, Lightroom, Bridge or any other fast culling tool you prefer, so long as your final hand-off is a numbered folder of 50 high-resolution selections with basic exposure/white-balance tweaks (no heavy retouching needed). A simple caption or two-word note on why each image made the cut will help me build the narrative layout later.

How to stand out
When you respond, drop a link to past photo culls or published spreads that show your storytelling instincts, you don’t need to write a lengthy proposal, just let the pictures prove it.

I’ll supply a download link as soon as we agree to proceed and would love the first pass back within 48 hours.
