16-Color Sprite Downsampling

Job ID: 40625388

Budget: $250 – $750 AUD

I have around 300 PNG sprites for my 3-D ray-caster that still sit at the original 256-color depth. They include every animation frame for the enemies as well as the various pickups, so both sets must be handled and preserved exactly as they are now—just reduced to a clean 16-color indexed palette.

What I need from you
• Convert every file from 256 to 16 colors, keeping resolution, transparency and frame order intact.
• Use a single shared palette per sprite family so colours remain consistent within an animation.
• Return the finished images in the same folder structure and filenames I supply (PNG preferred, but let me know if another indexed format is better for your workflow).
• A brief note on your method (dithering, custom palette optimisation, etc.) so I can repeat the process later if I add new art.

There’s no hard deadline; quality trumps speed. When you respond, please show past work that demonstrates you’ve done colour-reduction or pixel-art cleanup before—short links or thumbnails are fine. I’ll share a small sample set once we start so you can run a test pass and confirm the look before tackling the full batch.
