Calcium Imaging analysis and classification
Budget: $20 – $100 USD
In this project we aim at developing algorithms for analysis and classification of medical imaging of neuronal activity that is imaged using a method called "calcium imaging". In this method activated neurons emit light and we can detect their activity by capturing a grayscale video.
A typical video is on order of 5-10 seconds and a multiple neurons light up and fade away across the frame.
The task includes developing algorithm for detecting the activated neurons (video image processing), then representing the neural activity across time and space in a way that enables classifying different types of activity.
Data will be provided in the form of short videos with the relevant activity labels.
