Book QR Code Fix
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m looking for help with a Google Earth issue. I just published a book “29 Men of the Fitz," I generated a QR code to open a specific Google Earth map that traces the routes of the three vessels involved in the Edmund Fitzgerald sinking. Right now, the first scan occasionally lands on a generic Lake Superior view; a second scan immediately loads the correct, fully-detailed map.
The code was exported as a PNG, and that file is what went to press. I need someone who can identify why the URL sometimes resolves only part-way, then create a new, reliable code (or refine the existing one) so every single scan opens the full map on the first try—no matter the device or reader app.
Deliverables
• Diagnose the source of the inconsistent redirect.
• Supply a corrected QR code image suitable for print (300 dpi PNG preferred) plus the raw vector/SVG in case I update future printings.
• Provide a brief note explaining what was changed so I can replicate the fix if I ever update the link.
