Project Description:

We need help cleaning up and simplifying a series of vector illustrations from our flood barrier setup manual. The goal is to reduce both the visual complexity and file size of each image so they load quickly and cleanly in a digital manual.

⚠️ Important: These are very heavy documents with many vector points. The work requires a fast and powerful computer to handle the files efficiently without lag or crashes.



What You’ll Do:

You will receive .ai (Adobe Illustrator) files, each containing 70 step-by-step illustrations. For each illustration step:
1. Extract the relevant figure (one per setup step).
2. Simplify the vector artwork by:
• Expanding and outlining all strokes
• Converting everything to solid fills
• Removing all hidden lines and shapes beneath fills
• Merging all areas of the same fill color into single shapes
3. Export each illustration as a standalone .svg file, named:
Pagename + step X (example: C48-C122 Straight section Step3.svg)
4. Run each file through https://vecta.io/nano
to further reduce size and remove excess SVG data.
5. Ensure each final SVG file is between 50–100 KB in size.



Main Goals:

✅ Reduce vector complexity (no redundant lines, minimal paths)
✅ Minimize SVG file size (target: 50–100 KB per illustration)
✅ Preserve original look and clarity as closely as possible



Reference Video Provided:

A short video tutorial is included showing a step-by-step example of the simplification process in Adobe Illustrator. This should make the expectations very clear.



What We’re Looking For:

• Experience with Illustrator, Inkscape, or similar
• Strong understanding of vector path cleanup and shape merging
• Familiarity with SVG optimization
• Ability to work with large, heavy vector files without performance issues




Deliverables:
• 70 cleaned and optimized SVG files (1 per setup step)
• Proper file naming and size-optimized output
