Looking for Manga / Comic Illustrator for Web Series "Crimson"
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Introduction:
Hello! I'm looking for an artist to join me on my vision for a website based around my screenplay for a manga / e-novel hybrid. The series will be formatted with a picture at the start of a page(perhaps multiple per page afterwards) followed by the script which contains the story and dialogue.. No dialogue will be necessary in the illustrations most of the time.
The Story | A Brief Synopsis
The story follows a hitman for-hire known on the streets as the Crimson assassin. In the criminal underworld he is known as goes by things like the "crimson hitman" or "red devil". He becomes notorious for how much of an unstoppable force he seems to be once he's after a target.
His real name is Jack Foyer. He grew up in a society known as the Protectors of Gaia which is part of a different underworld beyond the typical crime. These societies are more or less the world order, they work together and control all just about everything about the world. Jack eventually requests to leave the Protectors due to all the corruption and evil it has secretly brought to the world, and himself. The decision is fully met when the only true peaceful Headmaster (a leader of the Protectors) and Jack's mentor is killed by another Headmaster. Jack also learns that he was only adopted into this group because his parents were killed by them.
While being the assassin and out of the society he has formed in his own identity. He shares a duplex with his best friend Dante and his fiancé. He considers Dante a brother. Dante’s mother Estella took Jack in after he had a “falling out” with his family (a cover up). He also works as a camera man, and somewhat attempts at having a social life. However quickly in the story he's not able to balance his lives as it falls apart as multiple groups and people come back for him from the secret world due to the commotion he has been causing. Most want him dead or are warning him of danger. Some turn out to be his allies and want Jack to join them in fighting back the hidden world. Jack works with his old friends as he feels some sort of vengeance more himself when he is the hitman. Jack is powerful and liked enough to be a good guy, but why is he playing such a antagonistic role?
+ Dante also happens to be an FBI agent and he works in an exclusive task force designed to stop the hitman and figure out more about the hidden world.
If I had to pick the main story focus I’d say it’s deciphering if Jack is a good person and just a product of his environment or if he's just a bad guy.
What I'm Looking For:
I’m looking for an artist that can join me with this project. This will be ongoing, and I want someone that would be willing and able to work on an ongoing project. The workload will never be heavy, I can promise that.
As for the art style.. I’m looking for manga inspired art with some color. A grittier design is preferred. It’s a dark series, with a lot of action so I’m looking for an art style to represent it well. The more western inspired anime approach in shows like “Invincible” is what I’m going for more or less.

-Each chapter will have approx 4-10 images depending on the content. The specific scenes will be depicted in the script.
-I have a clear idea of what I want the characters to resemble to make things easier. When an important character is introduced, they are given a character description giving information on their appearance and mannerisms.
We can discuss payment if you're interested in this project. Either hourly or per picture. My price range is around 10-25 dollars per hour/per picture.
