Grace Gallivants and the Princess Builder
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I have written the draft manuscript of a book titled:
'Grace Gallivants and the Princess Builder'.
I plan on the books being the first in a series.
Grace Gallivants is a magical, mystical, fantastical, amazing character who appears, well, almost like magic, but not like magic in the lives of children who have been abandoned, rejected (have you ever been the last in the line-up to be picked?), verbally abused, neglected – children I call the unremembered.
Time is not an impediment to Grace and her reading glasses allow her to see into the future or the past - they are, in effect, a portal to the life of the child she is seeing.
The first book is based on two real life people - a mother and child I observed approaching a $2.00 ride-on toy at a shopping centre. In my book I have called the shiny red and gold ride-on toy, a 'Jack of All Trades' ride-on toy. To escape inclement weather the mother and her young daughter took shelter in the doorway of the local 'Flotsam & Used Goods Store' (a fictional name). Grace works for a Master Carpenter, crafting the restoration of hope, bringing forgiveness and reconciliation, acceptance, encouragement, peace, comfort, and healing.
Each story in the series will feature Grace Gallivants and will be stand-alone - that is a different child, a different 'unremembered account'.
