Educational book for learning Spanish
Budget: €750 – €1,250 EUR
INTRO
Absolute Spanish is a book designed for ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) students whose objective is to achieve fluency in Spanish without the need for any other tools than this book and the resources mentioned in it.
CONTENT
Absolute Spanish is a collection of 5-6 books comparable to the 6 CEFR levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).
Each book is divided into 61 chapters of about 3.4 pages each (approx. 244 pages).
Each chapter is divided as follows:
5 high-frequency words that the student will have to learn + examples with vocabulary already learned in the previous chapters.
Explanation of a grammatical topic
Exercises where the contents of the chapter as well as previous chapters are tested. (The exercises are distributed following the spaced repetition technique, in which the knowledge is spaced further and further apart in time until it is learned).
CONCEPT
There are three types of learners depending on how they perceive information best: Visual (they learn through images) Auditory (they learn through listening) Kinesthetic (they learn through sensations and movement).
Textbooks are usually designed with the objective of teaching a specific content, they are quite straightforward and, in general, I am sorry to say, quite boring, and this book is intended to give Spanish students a content through which they can learn as well as have a good time through a correct composition and the design of attractive illustrations.
I don't want a workbook or a student's book but a really attractive book that attracts attention, a visual book that awakens sensations.
CHALLENGES
Creation of an entertaining as well as colorful content without oversaturating the student and impairing their learning (not super illustrations but a visual attraction that accompanies the content).
Controlling the space occupied by each chapter as well as the corresponding corrections in order not to obtain an extremely “extensive” book.
REMUNERATION & PAYMENT
The idea is to develop and layout the introduction as well as the first 3 chapters of the 1st volume and present the project to various educational publishers such as: Ediciones SM, Anaya Educación, Planeta, Macmillan Education....
If accepted by a publisher, and taking into account that, in general, authors are paid a royalty of 10% (12% in some cases) of each copy sold, the author and illustrator would share this percentage 5-5 for the duration of the contract as well as the renewals.
On the other hand, I could also pay for the introduction as well as the first 3 chapters (about 8 pages) and in case of closing a deal with a publisher pay for the whole project.
These are the simplest/quickest options off the top of my head but I am open to negotiations/comments.
P.D: References and content example attached.
