Building Thermal & Environmental Evaluation
Budget: $10 – $30 AUD
I need support completing an academic assignment that critiques how a real building performs environmentally. The work starts with a whole-building review, then zooms in on one representative space, and finally brings everything together to show how the environmental systems are woven into the architecture.
Scope of analysis
First, needs toredraw accurate plans and sections in Rhino and export them to Illustrator to build clear, annotated environmental diagrams. The study then moves on site where I will collect data with lux and sound-meter apps. Grasshopper and Ladybug may come into play if they help illustrate findings, but the emphasis is on measured performance rather than full-blown simulation.
Primary focus
The core of the brief is thermal performance, with particular attention to:
• Heating and cooling efficiency
• Thermal comfort levels
Lighting and acoustic observations for one key space are secondary yet still important for the synthesis section.
What I expect from you
I would like a collaborator who can refine the Rhino drawings, lay out the Illustrator diagrams so they read instantly, and help shape a concise, well-argued narrative that links the data back to design intent. Please show examples of past work where you have evaluated building performance or produced similarly data-driven graphic presentations.
Key deliverables
• Clean Rhino model plus exported 2D plans and sections
• Illustrator boards with layered, labelled environmental diagrams
• Short written critique (around 1 000 words) connecting thermal, lighting, and acoustic findings
• A final synthesis sheet that visually ties all insights together and is ready for printing at A1
I am aiming for clarity, factual accuracy, and strong graphic communication rather than complex simulations, so thoughtful layout and sharp annotations will matter as much as the numbers themselves.
