Watercolor Illustrator for Children's Book

Hi there,

I’m looking for a talented watercolor illustrator to bring my children’s book to life. This is a 20-page picture book aimed at children aged 5–8, centered around the theme of disability, resilience, and adventure. The tone is warm, heartening, and age-appropriate, and I want each illustration to feel personal, gentle, and full of character.

What I’m looking for:

Hand-painted watercolor illustrations only.

No digital imitations, filters, or AI-generated work — please do not apply if you do not have real watercolor painting experience.

A soft, storybook feel (think Julia Donaldson/Beatrix Potter-style warmth).

Ability to create consistent characters throughout the book.

High-resolution scans or photographs of each painting suitable for print (preferably layered PNGs or flattened TIFF/JPEGs).

Comfortable with collaboration and a shared creative vision.

Deliverables:

20 individual illustrations (1 per page).

Cover illustration (optional, can be negotiated separately).

Delivery format suitable for high-quality print (A4 portrait layout, CMYK or print-ready RGB).
