**Job Description:**
We are seeking a skilled and imaginative Storyboard Artist to join our independent film project. As a Storyboard Artist, you will play a crucial role in visually translating the director's vision into a compelling narrative through illustrations. Your ability to convey emotion, pacing, and composition will be vital in shaping the overall storytelling process.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Collaborate closely with the director, cinematographer, and other key team members to understand the visual requirements of the film.
2. Create detailed storyboards that effectively communicate the sequence of scenes, framing, and overall visual flow.
3. Capture and enhance the mood, atmosphere, and emotions of the story through your illustrations.
4. Revise and iterate on storyboards based on feedback from the creative team to achieve the desired visual storytelling goals.
5. Work within project timelines and contribute to the overall efficiency of the pre-production process.
**Requirements:**
1. Proven experience as a Storyboard Artist, preferably with a portfolio showcasing previous film or animation projects.
2. Proficiency in digital illustration tools and software.
3. Strong understanding of cinematic language, composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a creative team.
5. Flexibility to adapt to different visual styles and project requirements.
6. Attention to detail and a keen eye for capturing nuances in character expressions and scene dynamics.
**Additional Information:**
- This is a freelance position for the duration of the film's pre-production phase.
- Remote work is possible, but availability for virtual collaboration meetings is required.
