I am seeking a talented and passionate artist to collaborate on creating customized drawings. I have been painting personalized silk tapestries for over two decades and looking to expand my production by creating a small, collaborative team to help with certain aspects of the process, in particular, the layout and design of the scene and drawing the various elements in a way that easily translates into my silk painting technique. The ideal candidate would be versatile and creative in their style while being grounded in realistic and scientific illustration. These paintings are richly symbolic portraits of my client’s inner life and so the characters and objects in the piece are emotionally expressive and spiritually oriented. The ideal collaborator would also be interested in the overall purpose and process of my work and excited to collaborate in an iterative way, as my process includes feedback and revision in dialogue with my clients. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on layout and design for the elements of the tapestry.
- Create detailed sketches based on provided themes and concepts.
- Incorporate feedback to refine and finalize drawing, sending the final version in a style and form that translates into the next step of my process.
- Ensure all artwork aligns with the intended spiritual themes and vision.
- Meet project deadlines and maintain open communication throughout the process.
Qualifications:
- Experience in creating spiritual or thematic artwork.
- Ability to conceptualize and refine ideas.
- Strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
- Proficiency in traditional and/or digital art techniques.
- Ability to interpret and visualize abstract concepts.
- Excellent communication skills and responsiveness.
- Ability to work collaboratively and accept constructive feedback.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with digital art software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate).
- Interest in philosophical and spiritual ideas and concepts.
- Previous experience in collaborative art projects.
Ideally, the freelancer is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
