Dr. Seuss-style illustrations for children's book
Budget: $3,000 – $5,000 USD
We need approximately 35 full color illustrations for a children's book, an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's short story The Rats in the Walls in anapestic tetrameter. Each illustration would cover two pages, and there would be one verse somewhere on the two pages. The illustrations would be in the style of Dr. Seuss - very nice examples can be found in R.J. Ivankovic's Dagon and Call of Cthulhu books, and that the style of what we're looking for.
The project will necessarily require reading the story. The Rats in the Walls is not the most popular of Lovecraft's stories and there is little in the way of previous graphical treatment of the story; perhaps two old and out-of-print comics (e.g., by Rich Corben) for some inspiration, but there is ample creative latitude here.
