Sci-Fi Themed Board Game Map Design
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
My project is about creating a medium-sized (24x24 inches) top down board game map. The theme of the game is set on a futuristic, Fortnite style island
The map should incorporate elements that are similar to those found in the online game Fortnite, but not be a direct copy, it can have no direct links to the Fortnite IP. These elements should be well-integrated into the game's environment to transport the players into a truly immersive world.
The board will later be split into 16 squares (6x6inches each). There should be 4 individual buildings (houses or other) spread randomly across the map, each building being roughly 5x3 inches in size. These buildings should be positioned so that they will each sit inside a 6x6 square and not cross over the lines between squares.
There should also be grass areas, paved ares and sand areas are an option too.
Figures in the game will be approximately 32mm high with 25mm bases, assets in the game should be an appropriate size to match this.
Key skills and experience:
- Board Game Design Experience: A proven record of designing successful board game maps is highly desired.
- Attention to Detail: I need the design to be intricate and thoughtfully laid out to ensure that the sci-fi theme stays at the forefront.
- Graphic Design: Expertise in graphic design is expected. You should be able to create visually striking and aesthetically pleasing elements.
- Understanding of Sci-Fi Genre: An understanding or interest in the sci-fi genre would be ideal to aid you in realizing my vision for the game.
