Renaissance Painting on Leather Jacket Canvas
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I want someone who can paint a piece by Gustave Moreau onto the back of my leather jacket. I'll be wearing the jacket while riding my motorcycle. It would be great if the painting wouldn't fade in the sun. If at all possible, I would like to modernize the piece a bit with the characters. I'd like to give the characters some tattoos and piercings.
For the woman in the painting, it would be great to possibly have the woman in the picture look like a 1940s goth-like pin up model. She also having some tattoos and piercings. She is nude in the painting. While that doesn't bother me, I'd like to be able to wear it in public. Maybe have some fabric covering her up. It's a classical painting. Maybe I could get away with it, but I live in Texas. So... You know. It can be the no fun state sometimes.
With the male, some of the same with him too. See if I can have him with some tattoos and piercings. He's a Pterocentaur, but I don't think he has arms in the painting. I like his face because it somewhat looks like mine. Maybe I'm being generous. It would be cool to make his hair look a little more like mine. My hair can be a bit wild, so it could also work if his hair is slicked back. His tattoos don't have to match mine. I would like for him to have a lip ring like me, but the male in the picture doesn't have to match up to me exactly. If it did, it would be an awful painting, but I joke. The painting doesn't have the male figure with any arms. I would like to have those added to maybe show him whisking the woman away on her back as he flies into the unknown.
Overall, this is what I am going for with the message of the picture. I'm a bit of a free spirit (who isn't, right?). Centaurs were mean't to show humans as free and untameable creatures. The Chimera is based on an evil character, but I think in this piece, it's just a collection of animals. I can't find the meaning behind the picture, or why Gustave painted it. I like to think that it was a bit of a doodle. I like how there might not be a meaning behind it. People are spoon fed context without creating their own interpretation.
Anyway, I like the symbolism of a wild and free creature who is not easily defined jumping off a cliff into the unknown. I like to travel and be spontaneous as I can be. In the painting, it looks like the man might not care about the woman, but the woman does look like she is in love with the man. That's why I would like there to have arms on the man in a position that looks like he is taking her with him. I would like to find a woman who loves me for the weird create that I am, and to want to come with me to experience new things.
The jacket is Italian leather. I picked it up when I was in Florence. The leather is great, but the other materials might not have been of the best quality. The style is like those old police motorcycle jackets. The Ramones wore them. I'll eventually put some metal studs in areas. I like to add solid paint in some areas. Not exactly going for a punk look, but more of goth. It'll be a work in progress. I'll wear it when I ride, so it'll need to be a bit more protective.
I put two versions of the painting. The original is what Gustave painted, but I like the colors in the one labeled as such. The original is more detailed.
