Realistic Celebrity Caricatures for Book Cover
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I'm seeking an artist skilled in creating realistic, slightly exaggerated caricatures for a book cover. The illustrations should depict 4-6 celebrities in a manner that's engaging but not overly comedic or cartoonish. [see below for specifics]
Key Requirements:
- Crafting of 4-6 realistic, slightly exaggerated caricatures of celebrities
- Ability to balance between caricature and realistic portrayal
Ideal Skills:
- Cartooning or comic illustration
- Strong understanding of celebrity likenesses
- Ability to create engaging and visually appealing compositions
I am the art director for a nonprofit university press that publishes nonfiction books on history and politics. I have attached a rough cover design sketch for a book we will be publishing in Spring 2025. I'm looking for someone who can draw these celebrities in a comic book style but not overly exaggerated caricatures. At the top is Jerry Springer and Insane Clown Posse. At the bottom is Vince McMahon, a beanie baby, and the character Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat.
The book will be published in print and ebook editions. The print edition will be print-on-demand, so there is no concrete print run, but we estimate sales of 1000 copies including both print and ebook units.
