Paint 5 Highly Realistic Large-Format Digital Images
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
Hello. :)
This is just a project I'm doing for personal interest, and might potentially create an online gallery for images such as these in the future.
I am looking to hire maybe 6 to 10 people to do this project. You must be a talented digital artist who is able to create paintings that look very realistic compared to the subject matter.
I might want to print these images at 36 inches x 36 inches (91.44cm), so the canvas size should be 10,800 pixels x 10,800 pixels. The output should a common and easily convertible graphics file. You may send the original Photoshop (or whatever software you use) file if you like, but that would only be for exporting to new formats - I will never edit the contents of the work you create.
I think you will find the subject matter very interesting. ...If you don't think it's very interesting, please do not apply. :) What I want you to create are 5 different images showing precisely what you visualize inside your own head. So for example, if I ask you to imagine an apple in your mind, I want to see exactly that apple in your finished painting.
I would like you to be very honest with your paintings, and do not embellish what you see inside your mind. If your vision in your mind is very sharp and detailed, please draw that. If your vision is blurry or dark, please draw that. Maybe you imagine the apple on a table with other things, maybe you imagine the apple in your hand, or maybe you imagine the apple and there is nothing at all in the background. Maybe the apple is red, green, yellow, with a leaf, with some wetness on it, hanging on a tree... All of those things are OK - please just draw whatever your mind produces.
Here are the five things I would like you to paint:
1. An apple.
2. Someone you know today that you love.
3. Someone you knew long ago that had a strong impact (negative or positive) in your life.
4. What you see in your mind when you listen to your favorite song.
5. A place in your childhood town that you remember well.
I would like everyone who I accept for the project to do #1. For #s 2, 3, 4 & 5, you may choose other topics to paint if you are excited about painting something else.
The only other thing I will ask for each image is that you write a short description about each one explaining what the image is, what the subject means to you, and anything else you find personally significant or what you think others would find personally significant.
Please note that these do not need to be hyper-realistic images that could be confused as a photograph. I would like them to look as close as possible to what you actually see in your head, but if your personal style shines through in the piece, that's OK. If that's the case, perhaps you could write a few additional notes that would make it clear how your image differs from what you see internally.
Please feel free to ask questions!
Finally, I want to be clear that since I'm paying for these works, that I will own them and have all rights to use them in any way I wish. I don't know yet what I might do with them, but if for example they ever were to be published, I would ask you first if you would like to be attributed as the owner, and if I could have your permission to any of the information you provided.
Thank you. :)
