Illustrated Urban Fantasy Book Cover Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I'm in need of an illustrator to create a cover for an urban fantasy story.
Context: magic and science have blended to give rise to professional superheroes, an business as big as Hollywood, pro sports and defense contracting combined. Here, a girl fresh out of high school looking to break into the industry ends up interning for a superpowered criminal mercenary. Shenanigans ensue.
Request: a cover image depicting the two in a stylized, realistic style with specific clothing, appearances, and positioning within a scene (all details included in the attached document).
Regarding AI: I'm not against the use of AI. However, since my request is quite precise, I haven't had luck with AI submissions in meeting them. If you do use AI in part or even completely, so long as the request is met, I have no concern either way.
Submission: after reviewing the document, if you are interested, please respond with
- a few samples from your portfolio that demonstrate your intended direction with the material.
- for hand-drawn artists, please also submit a very simple outline of the characters to demonstrate an understanding of their physiques and the scene's blocking.
- for AI artists, please submit at least one generated image demonstrating the same (physique and blocking).
