Hand-Drawn 24-Page Kids Illustrations
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I have written a 24-page picture book for children aged 6-8 and now need the story to come alive through vibrant, hand-drawn, full-colour art. The tone is light-hearted and playful, so I’m leaning toward a clean, cartoonish style that will instantly capture a young reader’s imagination.
Most spreads take place outdoors—think sunny park scenes, tree-houses, winding paths, and plenty of sky—so a knack for drawing expressive characters in lively natural settings is essential. Each illustration should fill a full page (bleed to the edges) and maintain consistent character design, palette, and line quality across the book.
Deliverables
• 24 finished illustrations in high-resolution CMYK (300 dpi) suitable for print, plus RGB web versions
• Layered source files (Procreate, Photoshop, or Illustrator) so my designer can place text and tweak layout if needed
• Thumbnail storyboard for layout approval before final rendering
• Two rounds of minor revisions on the final art to ensure colour balance and character consistency
Acceptance Criteria
• Final images match the approved storyboard composition and keep characters on-model
• Colours remain bright and engaging when converted to print CMYK
• Outdoor backgrounds feel cohesive from spread to spread, with clear depth and perspective
