Custom Historical Maps of South Indian Ruler
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I'm looking for a skilled cartographer who can create 3-5 custom historical maps depicting the territory of a South Indian ruler from the 18th-19th century.
The maps should represent:
- Core territory: the lands directly ruled by the ruler.
- Peak territory: the maximum extent of the ruler's territory.
- Area of influence: regions of cultural, religious, or symbolic influence beyond political boundaries.
An optional deliverable would be:
- A map of the political landscape of South India during the same period for contextual comparison.
- An artistic/fantasy-inspired version using symbolic motifs (like celestial parallels such as Nandana Vana, Vaijayanta palace, etc.).
The key to this project is the balance of historical accuracy and aesthetic design. While the maps must be accurate, they should also be visually appealing and blend both elements equally. The final output should be publication-ready (300 DPI, labeled, clean design).
I will provide:
- Rough sketches
- Historical references
- Region-specific inputs for accuracy
Deliverables should include:
- High-resolution files
- Editable source files (Illustrator, Photoshop, or GIS format)
Ideal skills and experience for the job include:
- A strong background in historical research and cartography.
- Experience with Indian historical geography is a bonus.
- Ability to blend historical accuracy with visual storytelling.
