Comic created from our comic brief - 5 pages
Budget: $250 – $300 AUD
Create a comic based on our brief. The comic is 5 pages, approximately 10-12 panels per page and in landscape view. I am looking for a style that is similar to modern film noir.
If you are interested in this project, I will ask you to create 2 panels as a proof of concept for us to see whether your skills are suitable. If I like your sample then I will offer you the job.
This is also part of a project that requires the creation of other similar length comics and we may offer you additional work if this is successful.
Main character is John. He is a middle aged man, reasonably fit and in good shape, and can be any race. John has a very powerful sense of smell. It would be great to see the smells have shapes, characters, personalities etc. sometimes. For example, a smell could be coming towards John with outstretched fingers.
If you are interested in this project please provide a sample of these 2 panels.
Panel 1: We see John as a child (8). There is a group of kids playing nearby but he stays away, not because he doesn’t want to but because he can’t stand their smells.
SPEECH: Growing up, I didn’t have many friends
Panel 2: A happy kid, is running past Young John to pick up a ball. We can see smell lines floating towards John from Donny’s very sweaty arm pits. John is turning his head and screwing up his face, trying not to be rude but failing to hide how he feels about the smell.
SPEECH: Donny Parkins smelled of stale dough in the morning, acrid sweat from recess onwards
