Cartoonish Teen Illustrations
Budget: £5,000 – £10,000 GBP
I need someone brilliant to illustrate my comic novel (publication date 2026; it's with a leading publisher) about a teenage boy living in the UK with his family, his dog and his friends. These would be black and white, hand-drawn, possibly cartoon-style illustrations. If you look at Ronald Searle's work, you'll see the level of excoriating wit and style that I'm hoping for. The illustrations will be for both the cover and the interior of the book.
Key Requirements:
- Expertise in traditional mediums, particularly pencil and pen
- Proven experience in illustration.
I'm looking for someone who can make me laugh. I can write funny lines but I can't draw at all, so I have grown up worshipping illustrators who bring fantastic and distinctive wit to their work, among them Quentin Blake, Posy Simmonds, Edward Gorey and Ronald Searle. Please provide a portfolio of your previous works, particularly those illustrating teenagers or families, if available.
