Two Brutal Uncles Partying to the Beat
A Short Story
by PEN
ZOMBIE ONE had always loved idyllic Manchester with its ripe, rare rivers. It was a place where he felt surprised.

He was a gracious, malicious, squash drinker with brown moles and red eyelashes. His friends saw him as a jealous, joyous juggler. Once, he had even helped a spotless baby bird recover from a flying accident. That's the sort of man he was.

ZOMBIE walked over to the window and reflected on his creepy surroundings. The clouds danced like rampaging lizards.

Then he saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the figure of ZOMBIE 2 TWO. ZOMBIE 2 was a cowardly friend with ugly moles and fat eyelashes.

ZOMBIE gulped. He was not prepared for ZOMBIE 2.

As ZOMBIE stepped outside and ZOMBIE 2 came closer, he could see the homeless glint in her eye.

"I am here because I want a phone number," ZOMBIE 2 bellowed, in a hopeful tone. She slammed her fist against ZOMBIE's chest, with the force of 1809 horses. "I frigging love you, ZOMBIE ONE."

ZOMBIE looked back, even more anxious and still fingering the ripped piano. "ZOMBIE 2, you must think I was born yesterday," he replied.

They looked at each other with surprised feelings, like two obedient, obnoxious owls talking at a very cute holiday, which had piano music playing in the background and two brutal uncles partying to the beat.

Suddenly, ZOMBIE 2 lunged forward and tried to punch ZOMBIE in the face. Quickly, ZOMBIE grabbed the ripped piano and brought it down on ZOMBIE 2's skull.

ZOMBIE 2's ugly moles trembled and her fat eyelashes wobbled. She looked calm, her body raw like a brawny, bored blade.

Then she let out an agonising groan and collapsed onto the ground. Moments later ZOMBIE 2 TWO was dead.

ZOMBIE ONE went back inside and made himself a nice beaker of squash.
