Functional Requirements
Goal
We want to rewards the students for taking certain actions on an Educational Learning App. We intend to do it by unlocking a set of ‘exciting’ avatars when they complete the desired actions.
As of today, the students can choose one out of the 6 available avatars as their profile image. Let’s call these free avatars.
We want to create a set of 10 new avatars which would be on similar theme but these 10 would be much more exciting and desirable for the students. They should exciting enough to motivate the students to take those actions. Let’s call these 10 avatars as ‘Locked avatars’
It is important for the 10 ‘locked avatars’ to visually stand out when placed beside the 6 ‘free avatars’. For example, the ‘Locked avatars’ should stand out from the free avatars on specific screens, screens will be shared once the project starts.
**Details/Constraints:**
- Majority of these students would be in K-5 grades i.e. aged between 5-10 years.
- Country = Primarily US
- The ‘Locked Avatars’ should be built on the same base character.

**Brand Language:**
Generally, our brand visuals are is playful & mysterious. They’re built around the theme of entering a portal to explore a whole new universe. There is a lot of use of organic flexible shapes. We prefer textures over gradients.
**Colours:**
Please feel free to derive a primary palette based on the original 6 characters we’ve shared. The only other principle is that the avatar should look good on our primary background colours below,
**Background Colours** our product typically uses:
- Deep purples: #020533, **#090A4A (most often)**, #141975 (sometimes)
- White/Light Greys: **#FFFFFF (most often)**, #EDEDF9, #DCDCEA
**Number of assets:**
6 simple avatars
10 elaborate, fancy avatars
**Format:** SVGs
That would help us easily scale to different screens and devices
**Tentative size ranges each Avatar would possible be used in:**
Min: 24*24 dp
Max: 200*200 dp
**Aspect Ratio of each avatar asset:** 1:1 (Squares)
The avatars would simply by the profile view (heads) of the different characters
