BIW Shell Meshing & Cleanup

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

I need a skilled FEA pre-processor to prepare two BIW models—the current design and a version with several ribs removed—for a global stiffness comparison. I will supply the CAD assemblies; your task is to deliver production-ready HyperMesh (or FEMAP) files that let me run the analysis as soon as they land on my desk.

Scope of work
• Geometry cleanup: remove duplicate surfaces, heal surface holes, and simplify any unnecessarily complex features that could compromise mesh quality or inflate element count.
• Midsurfacing: extract accurate mid-planes for all relevant stampings and ensure thickness attributes are mapped correctly.
• High-quality mid-plane shell meshing: target a uniform element size, keep warpage and aspect ratio within accepted automotive BIW limits, and resolve all flow-paths and flange regions so panel stiffness is preserved. Hybrid mesh controls are fine as long as the finished mesh passes standard quality checks.
• Model hand-off: deliver organised component groups, property cards, and part IDs that match my naming convention so I can drop the decks straight into the solver.

Acceptance criteria
– No failed quality elements (warpage, skew, jacobian, aspect) above my stated thresholds.
– All connections and weld flanges clearly identified with appropriate 1-D or 2-D elements ready for later seam-weld creation.
– Separate .hm (or .fem) files for both the baseline and rib-deleted structures, plus a short summary of element statistics so I can confirm parity between the two meshes.
