NYC RTU Legalization Plans
Budget: $5,000 – $5,001 USD
Several HVAC rooftop units were installed on my building in New York City without a final sign-off, so the Department of Buildings now requires a full mechanical filing to legalize the existing equipment. The project calls for a New York-licensed mechanical engineer who can turn my partial documentation and field data into a complete DOB-ready drawing set.
What I need is a stamped set that satisfies the current NYC Mechanical and Energy Codes, reflects the actual as-built conditions, and can be submitted through DOB NOW. Coordination with any required structural loading notes and curb details must be included, though no structural redesign is anticipated.
Deliverables expected:
• Field verification of the existing HVAC rooftop units, ductwork, gas/electrical connections, and clearances
• Full mechanical plans, schedules, and details formatted for DOB submission, stamped for New York State
• TR-1/TR-8 sign-offs and any supporting energy compliance calculations
• Prompt revision handling until the filing is approved
