Industrial Workshop HVAC Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a qualified HVAC professional to develop a full cooling-load calculation and air-conditioning system design for an industrial workshop in Oman. The space is under 500 m², used for manufacturing processes, and the envelope is only moderately insulated, so precise heat-gain estimation is critical in our hot desert climate.
Your task begins with a rigorous cooling-load analysis that reflects local weather data, occupant density, machinery heat output, lighting, infiltration, and the building’s actual U-values. Please use an industry-accepted method or software—Carrier HAP, TRACE 3D+, or an equivalent ASHRAE-compliant tool—and document all assumptions so the calculation can be audited later.
On the design side I expect: system selection with a clear rationale (e.g., packaged DX, VRF, or an alternative that withstands high ambient temperatures), equipment sizing charts, a schematic duct and diffuser layout, fresh-air and exhaust provisions, and brief notes on controls and filtration appropriate for a light manufacturing environment. Align the design with GCC energy-efficiency requirements and any relevant Omani code references.
Deliverables
• PDF report containing step-by-step cooling-load calculation, peak sensible/latent loads, and hourly profile
• Equipment schedule and specification sheets
• Single-line duct/pipe layout in DWG or Revit (if you use BIM) plus a plotted PDF
• Short narrative on system operation, maintenance access, and future expansion considerations
I will be available to answer questions about machinery heat rejection or operating schedules, and I can supply architectural drawings on request. If you have recent Gulf-region HVAC experience, please highlight it in your proposal.
