HVAC Ductwork Estimation Sheets -- 2
Budget: $8 – $15 AUD
I have a set of mechanical-ventilation drawings that call for rectangular ductwork in 20-gauge galvanized steel. I need a meticulous quantity survey and cost estimate that I can hand straight to our fabricators and, ultimately, to the client as a firm quotation.
Your task is to extract every length, fitting, transition and accessory from the plans, calculate sheet-metal areas and weights, apply labour factors, and produce a clear pricing workbook. I expect the file in Excel (or a comparable format) with sections for raw material, fabrication hours, installation hours, consumables and mark-ups so I can adjust numbers if needed before submitting the quote.
Accuracy is critical; the totals must reconcile with the drawings and the gauge specified. If you normally use tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble or ESTmep for take-offs, that’s perfect—just include a PDF summary or native export so I can see how the numbers were generated.
Deliverables:
• An editable spreadsheet containing the full bill of quantities, unit rates and extended totals
• A brief methodology or notes tab that shows your assumptions for waste, joints and seams
• A one-page PDF summary suitable for forwarding to the client
If any information is missing from my drawings I’ll supply it on request, but I’d like you to flag questions early so we stay on schedule.
