HVAC Design for Commercial Gym
Budget: $700 – $1,400 USD
Mechanical Design Required, Gym Project, UK
We are looking for an experienced UK mechanical/HVAC designer to prepare mechanical drawings and design information for a proposed commercial gym project.
The heating and cooling strategy is understood to be based on fan coil units. This is not currently assumed to be a DX/VRF system, and no outdoor condensing units or refrigerant pipework are assumed unless advised otherwise by the designer.
Scope to include, where applicable: heating and cooling load assessment, fan coil unit selection and capacity calculations, fresh air and extract airflow calculations, ventilation strategy, ductwork layouts, fresh air supply/AHU specification, pre-heating requirements for incoming external air if required, CHW/LTHW pipework routes and sizing, condensate drainage strategy for cooling fan coil units where required, equipment schedules, specifications and coordination drawings suitable for architectural integration.
Design to comply with relevant UK Building Regulations and guidance for gym use, including Approved Document F Volume 2, Approved Document L Volume 2, Approved Document B where services pass through fire-resisting construction, Approved Document H where condensate or drainage connections are affected, relevant CIBSE guidance including CIBSE TM43 for fan coil units, and applicable BESA ductwork standards where ductwork is proposed.
Attachments will include the GA plan, toilet/shower/changing area layout, drainage information and mechanical markup.
Please provide your fee, timescale, relevant experience, assumptions, exclusions, deliverables included, and confirm whether Building Control support is included.
Applicants without demonstrable UK Building Regulations and CIBSE-based mechanical design experience, relevant building services qualifications, Professional Indemnity Insurance, and examples of similar completed commercial/leisure HVAC projects will not be considered.
