Adjust Furnace Gas Pressure Safely
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I recently replaced the gas valve on my natural-gas furnace and the pressure is now too high. I’m seeing yellow, oversized flames and the safety switch keeps tripping.
I need a qualified HVAC or gas-service technician who can:
• Measure the current manifold pressure with a manometer.
• Adjust or replace the regulator to bring the pressure back to the correct specification.
• Verify proper burner flame characteristics and cycle the furnace to ensure the safety switch no longer trips.
Please have experience working on residential natural-gas furnaces and bring any specialty tools you’ll need. A short visit that leaves the unit running safely and efficiently is all I’m after; no other system work is required.
