job description
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
In groups of two (self-selected), students will present a subject area of HRM as it applies to tourism and/or hospitality management.
Select a province or state in a country of your choosing and produce the presentation as a training module for employees within that province or state.
Groups are free to select any topic that relates directly to tourism and hospitality in consultation with the instructor.
Research outside the course itself is encouraged, but must be referenced in APA format as part of the presentation.
One group per topic—no duplicates
Topics could include (but not limited to):
Job orientation
Designing job descriptions
Developing employee talent
Succession planning
Retirement planning
Creating positive workplace environments
Integrating ‘green practices’ in the workplace
Cultural issues or concerns in the workplace
Sexual assault in the workplace
Etc, etc...
Groups can use any presentation format that is appropriate for the topic chosen. For example, a ‘Job Orientation’ focused project could be achieved using video, PPT, a website or any other presentation format or platform.
The presentation should include an audio voice-over so that the final product is a self-contained package.
Groups will be limited to 5 minutes for their presentation and will be timed.
Each member will participate in the presentation.
Marks will be awarded based on professionalism, preparation, content and delivery.
I encourage creativity and critical thinking!
Students will be graded equally base on the peer assessment form: see attached
