Project Title: Comprehensive Logistics Company Website with Rate Explorer
Project Overview
We are seeking a skilled freelancer (or team) to design and develop a professional, modern, and fully responsive website for our logistics company. The website should showcase our services, expertise, and credibility, while also featuring a secure back-end system—Rate Explorer—that enables our internal team to upload updated rate sheets (via Excel) monthly, which can then be viewed by authorized users or the public (depending on access rules).

Key Objectives
Professional Front-End Website

An appealing design that reflects our brand identity and logistics services (air, sea, land, etc.).
Easy navigation and user-friendly layout on desktop and mobile.
Informative pages about company background, services, contact, and more.
Back-End Database & Rate Explorer

A dedicated portal to view and compare logistics rates (port-to-port, sector-to-sector).
Functionality for bulk uploading new or updated rates via a standardized Excel template.
Secure user roles and permissions to limit who can view or manage rate data.
Content Management

An integrated or custom Content Management System (CMS) for updating website content (news, service details, announcements).
Ability to easily add or remove new pages or sections as business expands.
Scalability & Security

Well-structured back-end that can handle data growth over time.
Security best practices in both front-end design (SSL, secure forms) and back-end architecture (user authentication, password hashing, etc.).
Scope of Work
1. Front-End Website Development
Home Page: Overview of our company, highlighting core services and a strong visual layout.
About Us: Our background, team, mission, and corporate values.
Services: Detailed description of each logistics service (sea freight, air freight, trucking, warehousing, customs brokerage, etc.).
Contact Page: Contact form, office locations, and a live map (if desired).
Blog/News Section (optional): To share industry insights, announcements, or news.
Responsive Design: Ensure consistent performance on desktops, tablets, and mobile devices.
2. Back-End Rate Explorer
User Roles & Authentication:
Admin: Can upload new rates (Excel) and manage user roles.
Staff: Can view or edit rates as needed (depending on permissions).
Clients/External Users: If required, can view specific rates (either limited data or read-only).
Database Structure:
Each entry stores origin, destination, rate, validity period, and any additional notes (e.g., vessel schedules, capacity).
Ability to categorize data by sector (sea, air, land) and port pairs for quick searching.
Bulk Upload via Excel Template:
A standardized Excel format that your office fills out monthly.
The website’s back-end automatically processes the file, updating the existing database or adding new records.
Validation to ensure correct data format (e.g., numeric values, date ranges).
Search & Filter:
A dynamic interface to search rates by origin, destination, validity, or other filters.
Sorting options (e.g., by date, by cost).
Front-End Integration:
If desired, certain rate data can be displayed on a public-facing page for customers (could be a “Get a Quote” or “Rate Lookup” page) with appropriate branding and disclaimers.
3. Content Management System (CMS)
Admin Panel:
Manage website pages, blog posts, images, and other content.
Update front-end text without needing technical knowledge.
Security & User Permissions:
Different access levels for marketing personnel vs. rate management staff.
4. Additional Integrations (Optional)
Live Chat: Integrate a chat system for customer inquiries.
Email Notifications: Automatic notifications when new rates are uploaded or about to expire.
Analytics: Link Google Analytics (or similar) to track site traffic and user behavior.
Technical Requirements
Preferred Languages/Frameworks (Open to discussion):
Front-End: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React, Vue, or Angular if a single-page app is desired).
Back-End: Node.js, Python (Django/Flask), or PHP (Laravel/CodeIgniter) – or any framework you recommend.
Database: MySQL or PostgreSQL for structured data storage.
Hosting & Deployment:
Recommend hosting solutions (AWS, Azure, DigitalOcean, etc.).
Setup CI/CD pipelines if feasible.
Security Measures:
SSL certificate.
Secure login (JWT or session-based) and password hashing.
Input validation and protections against SQL injection, XSS, etc.
