I'm looking for a skilled an experienced WordPress/WooCommerce developer to conduct a thorough audit of the plugins installed on our website. With close to 99 plugins currently active, our site’s performance is being negatively impacted. The goal is to identify and remove any unnecessary, unused, or duplicate plugins and optimize the remaining ones to ensure our site runs efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
Initial Review:
Conduct an initial review of all installed plugins.
Provide an overview of the current plugin setup and identify any immediate concerns.
Detailed Plugin Audit:
Examine each plugin to determine its purpose and whether it is actively used or required.
Identify any plugins that provide duplicate functionality.
Assess the impact of each plugin on site performance.
Removal of Unnecessary Plugins:
Safely deactivate and remove any plugins that are not used or provide duplicate functionality.
Ensure no critical functionality is lost by removing a plugin.
Documentation and Reporting:
Update an Excel sheet listing all plugins with the following details:
Plugin Name
Current Status (Kept/Removed)
Reason for Keeping (Brief description of its purpose and necessity)
Reason for Removal (If removed, provide a clear explanation)
Provide recommendations for any necessary replacements or alternatives for essential functionalities.
Post-Audit Testing:
Thoroughly test the website after removing plugins to ensure there are no broken functionalities.
Optimize the remaining plugins for better performance.
Performance Optimization:
Suggest and implement additional performance optimization techniques as needed (e.g., caching, image optimization).
Requirements:
Proven experience with WordPress and WooCommerce development.
In-depth knowledge of plugin functionality and performance impact.
Strong understanding of WordPress best practices for performance optimization.
Experience with debugging and resolving plugin conflicts.
Ability to document findings clearly and concisely.
