WordPress Guides Site Development
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I need a clean, modern WordPress site for my small UK accountancy practice that doubles as a resource hub. Besides the standard Home, About and Contact pages, the heart of the build is a library of downloadable help-guides—things like “How to Set Up a New Company”, “Sole Trader vs Limited Company”, “Beginner’s Payroll” and many more to follow.
This library must do three things:
• Capture email addresses automatically before a visitor can download any free PDF or watch a free video.
• Allow me to sell premium guides individually (for example at £29.99) and also offer an ongoing membership option (around £9.99/month) that unlocks everything.
• Let me upload fresh content easily and repurpose it for email and social media.
I’m open to your advice on the best way to achieve this—whether that’s a custom WordPress plugin, configuring existing plugins, or something else entirely. Likewise for videos: YouTube, Vimeo or self-hosting are all on the table as long as playback is smooth and secure.
Key requirements and deliverables
• Fully responsive WordPress site with my branding and a simple, trustworthy design.
• Content library with category filters, search and clear calls-to-action.
• Email capture integrated with Mailchimp (or your recommended tool) before any free download/stream.
• E-commerce setup for both one-off purchases and recurring subscriptions (Stripe preferred, but I’ll take guidance).
• Secure member area for paid customers, with automated access control.
• Social-sharing buttons and short-URL generation so I can promote guides on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
• Clear back-end workflow so I can drag-and-drop new PDFs or videos without touching code.
• Basic on-page SEO best practice baked in, even though organic search isn’t my main channel.
• A brief hand-off session or video walkthrough so I feel confident managing everything myself.
If you have experience turning WordPress into a gated resource centre and can recommend the right blend of plugins, payment gateways and email tools, I’d love to hear how you’d tackle this.
