Simple Rule-Based Matching System + Stripe Integration for Tutoring Platform (MVP)
Budget: $1,400 – $2,800 CAD
I am looking for an experienced developer to build a simple rule-based matching system and integrate Stripe payments for my tutoring platform. This is an MVP, so the focus is on delivering core functionality efficiently and with clean, maintainable code.
Matching Algorithm Requirements:
- Filters:
- Test type: CELPIP / IELTS / TOEFL / LSAT / Conversation
- Level/Target Score: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced or score band
- Timezone and overlapping availability (e.g., weekday evenings, weekend mornings)
- Class type: 1:1 lesson or tutor-led study group
- Language preference: Korean/English
- Logic:
- Students fill out an onboarding form → system matches based on:
- Same test type
- Level within tutor’s accepted range
- Overlapping availability/timezone
- Open group spots (for study groups)
- Language preference match (prioritized)
- Auto-assigns the best match (1 option). Optionally, show top 3 alternatives later.
- Both 1:1 lessons and tutor-led study groups must be supported.
---
Stripe Integration Requirements:
- One-time package payments only (no subscriptions):
- 1:1 Lessons: Trial / 14 / 28 / 48-lesson packages.
- Groups: 4 / 8 / 12-week packages.
- Use Stripe Connect for revenue split:
- 80% Tutor / 20% Platform.
- Payout Logic:
- For 1:1 lessons, session-based payout when a lesson is marked “completed.” That session’s 80% is released to the tutor.
- For groups, payouts are delayed by about seven days after the package starts (4/8/12 weeks).
- After payment:
- Store remaining lesson count for 1:1 lessons.
- Store group period (4/8/12 weeks) for group classes.
- No need for subscriptions, automated refunds, or proration in this phase.
---
Budget: ? CAD $2,400–$2,800 (flexible within CAD $2,000–$2,800 based on experience and scope coverage).
---
Timeline: ? Total of 4–6 weeks, with core features (matching + Stripe payments + basic dashboards) working by week 3–4, followed by polishing and bug-fixing.
