Fix Size Selector on Product Page

Our website sells shoes and has a size selector for various sizes of shoes, Size 5 is selected by default which is causing some customers to order Size 5 without choosing their correct size.
We need the selector to not automatically select a size so the customer is forced to select their correct size. If they do not select a size and click add to cart it would need to come up with an error saying "Please select a size to proceed."
