Configure an API gemini to answer questions based on a pdf

Configure a gemini API to answer questions based on a pdf (pdf integrated into the API and not changeable) then integrate the API into my existing html code. the API must read the PDF and answer the user based on its understanding of the pdf and displays the answer.
