Apollo Energies Inc. is an energy efficiency audit and building energy upgrade services company. We work with building contractors (and building occupants) who need our services to measure their energy use to verify the amount of energy efficiency building improvements needed to qualify for government incentives that pay for a portion of those improvements. https://www.apolloenergiesinc.com. Apollo Energies goal is to make all, old and new, buildings carbon free.
Objective: To build/place an interactive password protected webpage that can be hosted on the Apollo Energies Inc. website. The webpage would provide our contractor partners a place to enter their, customer's building information, estimated costs of doing multiple types of building energy improvement work for their customers and receive a set of values that indicate the amount of energy efficiency government incentives available for those upgrades.
Description of work:
1. Duration: work can start as soon as you are available following agreement to begin work. the work is not expected to take more than 1 to 2 non-contiguous work week(s). Your assessment of the duration of the project will be considered, of course. The amount of total hours required in that time is something for you to estimate prior to work starting.
2. Working from a google worksheet prototype that already performs all the functions needed for the web app ( using logic and lookup functions), we want a web app page version that can be placed on the existing Apollo Energies Inc. website .
3. You would be provided guidance from the company founder, who works with several forms of coding, to build the web app. Your main point of contact would be the VP of Assessment and ESG Strategy. You would be able to work independently, but would also have at least 2 beta testing sessions with Founder and VP and would be expected not to need more than 4 such sessions to complete the project.
4. You would be available for the next 3 months to make minor modifications
5. You would be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement as the assembly of the information is propriety.
Features of the AEI web app:
1. The web app needs to be accessible on multiple devices (mobile and desktop)
2. Currently have no preference as to the programming language or technology used so long as the web app can be hosted on a Apache website.
3. visitor login using user email and password.
4. About 12 user entered data fields, 10 alphanumeric,
5. About 47 calculated fields of which more than half are repeat calculations
6. Entire user interface web app page prints to single 8.5X11 page.
7. Sample of variables: customer's (building owner's) name and address, the type of building (commercial or residential), number of floors, the square feet (size) of the building, the type and amount of energy (electricity, gas, both) and the cost of the energy used. Other variables include type of insulation, lighting, heating and cooling system
8. The app should be able to replicate the functionality of what the Google Sheets app prototype is doing
9. App would need to be able to be tied to a SQL database.
10. App host would be able to access all records of contractor/user entries using SQL data manipulation software.
Other things to keep in mind:
1. To keep it from making too many database updates, the user would be asked to press a "Save" or "Calculate" button to save the initial data to a database and populate "result" fields.
2. Then, before leaving web app page, the user would be asked to, "Save" to save the changed data to the database before closing the web app.
