Job Summary
==========
Looking for an Android Developer for a new Android application. You must be experienced in Android development, especially in (i) the technical design to ensure extensibility and reusability, and (ii) advanced image processing (crop, arrange, resize) and related UI interaction (pan & zoom). The app is going to be launched in the Android Play Store. The app’s overall goal is to provide a stellar user experience. High-fidelity mockups, click model and assets will be provided.

The deliverable is:
- Technical design & architecture
- Implementation of the application (flow comprises 5 key screens), ready to be published into the Play Store
- Documentation (code, comments, architecture diagrams etc...)

Required development skills:
- Native Android app development
- Technical design skills leveraging microservices for extensibility and reusability
- Implementation of user interaction with image pan & zoom
- In-app image processing (crop & resize); understanding of image resolutions for screen vs print; understanding of choosing the right downscaling algorithm (for best quality result)
- In-app image re-composition (arranging multiple photos into a single image with addition of text)

- App usage tracking & analytics (including server-side components or 3rd-party integration)

User Story
=========
As an everyday, cost-conscious person who needs a new passport photo, I’d like to be able to select one of my existing photos in my phone’s photo gallery and then “frame” the picture through pan & zoom so that it meets my government’s passport photo requirements. I want it to be saved back into my photo gallery as a new image with the right dimensions and resolution so that I can print it on a commercial self-service photo printer (located in drugstores) and cut it by myself after printing. This way, I can easily and cost consciously turn any headshot photo into a passport photo.

General Application Requirements
==========================
- The app has to be built for Android to be offered in the Google Play Store. Only later will it be developed for iOS.
- The app has to be built natively for the Android platform. This is to guarantee (i) application size to be as small as possible for fast download and installation, and (ii) application to be optimized for fast application loading and a snappy user interaction.
- Providing the most stellar User Experience is the guiding principle for every technical design consideration to be made.
- The application’s architecture is crucial and has to be well thought out. The application should be designed and built in a modular way as a collection of loosely-coupled microservices with well-defined interfaces. The rationale is extensibility and reusability. There are multiple feature enhancements, as well as other photo-related applications planned in the future..
- The initial version described herein is considered the Minimum Loveable Product (MLP). Initially, it launches in the Play Store in Germany, with German as the only supported language, and only supporting Germany passport photo requirements. Subsequently, it should support non-native language users in Germany, and later also support other government’s photo requirements and respective languages. The vision is to eventually support any (major) locale, and their government requirements and language. While these L12N and I18N product requirements are not in-scope for this MLP version, they should be taken into consideration during its architecture and technical design.
- Wherever possible, standard Android framework components, standard open source packages, or commercial software (if unavoidable) should be leveraged, rather than reinventing the wheel.
