Add Chapter Numbers in KPF
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I have a Kindle Create .kpf file that already contains an “unofficial contents” page, but it currently lacks any chapter-based page numbers. I’d like that page rewritten so each entry reads “Chapter 1, Chapter 2 …” (or whatever the correct sequence is) and those labels link to the appropriate locations in the manuscript, just as a proper table of contents would.
Because the source is a .kpf file I’m unsure how much of it can be edited directly; you may need to open it in Kindle Create, export, or work with the underlying HTML. Either way, I need the end result delivered as a working .kpf ready for upload, with the updated contents page fully functional on Kindle Previewer.
Please confirm in your proposal:
• the approach you’d take to access and modify the .kpf
• any round-tripping or conversion steps you expect
• a quick test plan to show that every chapter link lands on the right page inside Kindle Previewer
Once I approve the updated file and verify the links, the project is complete.
