Remote Canine Training Program Development - 23/12/2025 11:11 EST
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
Project Overview: Development of a 12-Month Remote Canine Training & Animal Care Program
Project Summary
We are seeking an experienced canine training and education expert to design and build a comprehensive 12-month remote training program for junior staff already working full-time in a practical animal-care environment.
Trainees are actively engaged in daily dog care, walking, handling, and basic training, and will complete this program remotely alongside their work. The program must therefore be highly structured, practical, and professionally rigorous, while remaining flexible and self-paced.
The resulting program will function as an internal diploma-level qualification, aligned as closely as possible with recognised industry standards and best practices.
Core Canine Focus (Primary Scope)
The program must place canine behaviour, training, and welfare at its core, covering:
Canine behaviour, psychology, and learning theory
Humane, science-based dog training methods
Obedience training and handling skills
Behaviour management and problem prevention
Enrichment, exercise planning, and mental stimulation
Welfare, ethics, and professional conduct
Safe handling, risk awareness, and bite prevention
Goal should be to build an industry-recognised advanced canine handler/trainer online training course
Expanded Secondary Training Areas (Supporting Scope)
While maintaining a canine-first approach, the program should also introduce trainees to broader animal-care and professional skills, enabling long-term career development. These may include:
Basic veterinary support & canine first aid
Health monitoring, injury awareness, emergency response
Equine care fundamentals
Safe handling, grooming, feeding basics, stable awareness
Livestock awareness
Basic handling principles, safety, welfare concepts
Animal care operations
Kennel routines, hygiene protocols, record keeping
Professional & business skills
Work ethic, responsibility, communication
Introduction to animal-related business operations
Client interaction basics and professionalism
These secondary modules should support and enhance the canine training focus, not dilute it.
Delivery Format & Technical Requirements
The entire program must be delivered as a fully built Moodle course, including:
Weekly structured modules (12 months total)
Pre-recorded video lessons
Weekly reading materials
Practical tasks linked to daily dog work
Written assignments and reflections
Monthly online knowledge tests
A final written and/or practical examination
Internal certification framework
All content must be:
Fully remote and asynchronous
Suitable for trainees with varied educational backgrounds
Clear, well-structured, and professionally presented
Reusable for future intakes
Deliverables
Complete 12-month curriculum outline
All written learning content
Video lessons (original content or clearly licensed material)
Practical task instructions and assessment rubrics
Quizzes, monthly tests, and final exam
Fully populated Moodle course
Instructor/admin guide for long-term use
Ideal Freelancer Profile
Proven expertise in canine training and behaviour
Strong grounding in humane, science-based methods
Experience designing long-form training programs
Comfortable with online education and Moodle
Ability to translate complex concepts into practical learning
Professional, discreet, and reliable
Experience with working dogs, farm environments, or multi-species animal care is a strong advantage.
Confidentiality & Discretion
