Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I’m finalizing the plans for a brand-new home here in Alberta and need a complete HVAC design built around a high-efficiency natural-gas furnace. The design must perform reliably through our long, harsh winters while remaining cost-effective to run in milder seasons.
Key goals
• Accurate heat-loss and heat-gain calculations for my exact square footage, insulation values, window specs, and orientation.
• Furnace sizing, equipment recommendations, and efficiency ratings appropriate for the Alberta climate zone.
• A clear ductwork layout that balances airflow to every room and meets local codes.
• Integration points for two extras I’ve already chosen—smart thermostat control (think Ecobee or similar) and an in-line air purification system. The design should show any low-voltage wiring or control requirements these add-ons need.
• Venting, fresh-air intake, and combustion-air details specific to natural gas.
• A concise material list so my builder can source everything without guesswork.
I’ll supply floor plans, insulation details, and any architectural drawings you need. Deliver the final package as PDF drawings plus an editable file (DWG or similar) so my contractor can tweak if necessary.
If you’ve designed gas-furnace systems for cold climates before and are comfortable adding smart controls and air quality features, I’d love to see your work samples and timeline.
