I would like an informative PowerPoint deck that clearly explains nursing-related aspects of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Muscular Dystrophy. The slides should strike a balance between evidence-based detail and easy-to-follow visuals so that the content can be presented in a classroom or in-service setting without overwhelming viewers.
Must include identify 3–5 high quality, relevant peer-reviewed articles that meaningfully
address their topic.
The presentation should demonstrate depth of understanding and clinical relevance and include an overview of the etiology and pathophysiology and
associated neurological signs and symptoms. Students must also address diagnostic approaches, medical, nursing, and interprofessional management
strategies, potential complications, and factors influencing prognosis and recovery, as well as patient education considerations. Attention to the lived
experience of individuals and families and implications for nursing and interprofessional practice should be clearly incorporated.
Visual or multimedia supports should be used appropriately to enhance clarity, organization, and audience engagement.
What I envisage
• Concise coverage of pathology, common clinical presentations, progression, and prognosis for both conditions
• Nursing assessment priorities, symptom management strategies, and multidisciplinary care considerations
• Patient and family education points, including communication aids, mobility support, nutrition, and psychosocial resources
• Current guidelines and best-practice recommendations referenced in APA format
• High-resolution images, simple diagrams, and a consistent, professional template (Microsoft PowerPoint 2019 or later)
• Speaker notes beneath each slide that elaborate on key talking points
Deliverables
1. Editable .pptx file (around 25–30 content slides, plus title and reference slides)
2. PDF handout version (3-slides-per-page layout)
3. Reference list with clickable links to sources published within the past five years
Acceptance criteria
• Information must be clinically accurate and free of plagiarism, with citations visible on the relevant slides.
• Visuals remain clear when projected on a large screen.
