Dedicated AI-Powered Video Security Device Development

Job ID: 39366444

Budget: $10,000 – $20,000 USD

We are seeking experienced professionals to develop a dedicated, standalone AI-powered video security device. This advanced device will be designed to connect with multiple IP cameras and perform local AI-based object detection without relying on cloud processing. Key requirements include:

 Hardware Platform:
- Use a powerful ARM-based SoC or edge AI platform (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Rockchip, NXP).
- Support dual Gigabit Ethernet ports along with Wi-Fi 5/6 and Bluetooth connectivity.
- Include audio output (3.5mm) and GPIO for alarms or siren integration.
- Local storage for logs, snapshots, and video recording (SD card, eMMC, or SSD) to ensure data privacy.
- Fanless, compact design.

 Video Integration:
- Support RTSP and ONVIF camera protocols.
- Handle up to 20 cameras concurrently at a minimum of 1080p @ 15 fps per camera.
- Capability to take and store snapshots and video recordings locally, ensuring the device operates entirely independently of any cloud service.
- Support basic camera controls (e.g., PTZ).

 AI Object Detection:
- Local processing using an AI model (such as YOLOv5 or equivalent) to detect objects (persons, vehicles, animals, etc.).
- Customizable detection zones and adjustable sensitivity per camera.
- Real-time alert system (e.g., trigger alerts based on predefined conditions like time-specific events).

 Firmware/Software:
- Utilize a minimal, Linux-based OS optimized for edge AI processing.
- Develop custom firmware featuring a clean web dashboard accessible via LAN and, optionally, via cloud for event/log sync (optional, as the device is designed to operate locally).
- Ensure secure boot, support for firmware updates, and encrypted storage.
- Provide a REST API for third-party integration.

 Security:
- HTTPS for secure connections.
- Local user authentication with an option for 2FA.
- Encrypted storage of video snapshots, recordings, and logs.

 Integration & Automation:
- Capability to integrate with existing alarm systems (via GPIO, MQTT, etc.).
- Support for custom automated rules (e.g., IF person detected in a specific zone THEN trigger an alarm and send a push notification).
- Compatibility with third-party services (e.g., Home Assistant, SmartThings, or custom APIs).

Deliverables:
- A prototype device with a full software stack and validated local testing.
- Custom firmware with update capabilities and documentation for manufacturing and deployment.
- Optional: Enclosure design and thermal testing for production readiness.

Project Details:
- Timeline: ASAP. We wish to see a working prototype as soon as possible.
- Budget: Open for proposals. Please include your estimated costs and timelines in your bid.

If you are interested and have the expertise to handle such an advanced integration of hardware and software, please submit your proposal with relevant experience, your approach, and an estimated budget and timeline.
